Three Brentford players played a key role as Wycombe Wanderers took a lead from their Sky Bet League Two Play-Off Semi-Final First Leg last night.

Development Squad defender Alfie Mawson, Sam Saunders and Nico Yennaris are all on loan at the Buckinghamshire club and helped them finish fourth in League Two.

They all played 90 minutes for Wycombe in their Play-Off match against Plymouth Argyle in Devon last night, Saturday May 9.

Alfie’s early header was saved before former Brentford striker Paul Hayes converted to put Wycombe in front.

They were three up early in the second half, Sam setting up the third goal, but Plymouth hit back late on to reduce the deficit to 3-2 by full time.

Wycombe will have home advantage for the Second Leg, on Thursday, May 14, and will be looking to secure a spot in the League Two Play-Off Final, at Wembley on Saturday May 23.

Brentford have one more player out on loan – Development Squad attacker Montell Moore, who is at Danish club FC Midtjylland.

FCM, as they are known, had games at Under-19 and First Team level this weekend but Montell was not involved.
