Patrik Gunnarsson and his Silkeborg side continued their excellent run of form and they now sit second in the Danish First Division after a 3-0 away win at Hobro. Sebastian Jørgensen grabbed two on the day whilst Nicklas Helenius also found the net to put the side seven points behind Viborg, who sit top of the table.

None of our other players currently at clubs overseas got game time at the weekend as Hail Dervişoğlu wasn’t involved for Galatasaray in their 3-0 win over Kayserispor. It wasn’t all plain sailing for the Turkish giants as they were in front marginally through Radamel Falcao right up until the final 10 minutes when Henry Onyekuru grabbed two late goals. They are now second in the league table behind Beşiktaş, who have a two point advantage, as well as one game in hand. Julian Jeanvier’s Kasımpaşa S.K. are in action this evening against Konyaspor.

In Poland, Joel Valencia missed Legia Warsaw’s 3-2 win over Warta Poznan in the Ekstraklasa. The side are seven points clear at the top of the table as two goals from Filip Mladenović and one from Paweł Wszołek sealed the win.

In the Football League there were four 0-0 draws for the loan clubs, two of which came in Sky Bet League One. Ellery Balcombe was an unused substitute for Doncaster Rovers as they were held at home by Northampton Town. Rovers now sit six points off the automatic promotion places in fifth, however they do have games in hand on all of the sides above them. In the same division, Jaakko Oksanen was part of the goalless draw for AFC Wimbledon as he played the final seven minutes away at Bristol Rovers. They sit bottom of League One and have a huge match on Tuesday against Wigan Athletic, who are also down the wrong end of the table.

Also in English football’s third tier, Dom Thompson played 77 minutes for Swindon Town as they were beaten 3-1 on home soil, despite actually taking the lead shortly before the break. Three second half goals from the away side turned things around, though, with two strikes from Vadaine Oliver and one from Kyle Dempsey. The Dons are away at Fleetwood on Saturday and sit 23rd in the table.

In Sky Bet League Two, Joe Adams was a second half substitute for Grimsby Town as they drew 0-0 with Colchester United. They are in need of points to climb away from relegation and they will take on Tranmere Rovers on Wednesday. As for Arthur Read, he was an unused substitute as Stevenage were held to a 0-0 score line by Southend away from home. They will take on Carlisle United on Saturday and are 15th in the table.
