Reece Cole helped Partick Thistle’s bid to avoid relegation from the Scottish Championship with a late intervention last night. The Brentford B is on loan at The Jags and they faced Dunfermline Athletic last night. They were trailing 1-0 deep in stoppage time when Reece crossed for Brian Graham to head in and earn his side a point.

Reece played 90 minutes in the match, making his 25th appearance for Partick. The Jags had an early penalty saved but fought back from going behind to get a draw. Partick are bottom of the Championship but are within five points of safety with a game in hand. They have a vital game against Alloa Athletic, the team they need to catch, on Saturday.

None of Brentford’s other players out on loan were in action this midweek but all could play on Saturday. Patrik Gunnarsson and Southend United – if his emergency loan is extended – will play away to Sky Bet League One leaders Rotherham United while Mads Bech Sørensen and AFC Wimbledon also travel north, facing Doncaster Rovers in another third-tier game. Justin Shaibu and Boreham Wood are at home to Torquay United in the Vanarama National League.
