A memorial service for Brentford FC Technical Director Robert Rowan was held at Griffin Park last week. Robert, 28, passed away on 12 November after suffering heart failure. He had been Technical Director at the Club since February and had been with Brentford for four years.

The Club organised a memorial service where Robert’s life and his contribution to football, particularly Brentford FC, was celebrated at Griffin Park last Thursday, 13 December. First Team and B Team players and staff were present and speakers included Phil Giles, the Club’s Co-Director of Football, Kevin O’Connor and defender Chris Mepham. The event was led by Club Chaplain Stuart Cashman. Those who were not able to attend can hear the service below.

Robert’s family has asked the Club to promote the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young to anyone wishing to donate. Brentford FC has a historic relationship with CRY as former manager Andy Scott, who worked closely with Robert when he was here as part of the recruitment staff, is a patron of the charity. CRY’s logo was also carried on the Club’s kit during the 2008/09 season. There will be an opportunity to make donations at the memorial service or you can donate at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/robert-rowan-5.
