Brentford knew this game was going to be a tough game after New London Lionesses winning all of their games so far. Brentford were on top during the first 20 minutes of the match and had kept New London Lionesses quiet.

New London Lionesses took the lead after attacking down the right side and cutting the ball back which was stuck well and lobs Haanah Iguchi. Brentford almost equalised straight after with a strike Shannon Read but the keeper was equal to the shot.

New London Lionesses doubled their lead after a goal kick was not dealt with by Brentford, the striker was clear on goal and scored the goal at the second attempt. Brentford still having lots of chances but couldn’t convert. HT 2-0.

Ruby Sumpter hit the crossbar after a Read corner, nearly the perfect start to the second half.

Brentford pulled a goal back, another good delivery from Read Harpreet Heer was on hand to punish New London Lionesses. New London Lionesses nearly scored but Iguchi pulled out a great save to deny it.

Brentford were then awarded a penalty after Jasmine Williamson was bundled over in the box, Read took the penalty which went wide. Tilly Penfold scored the equaliser for Brentford after a good ball into the box from Read fell to Penfold who slotted home from close range.

Straight after, Brentford took the lead for the first time in the game after Karen Abou-Abdallah intercepted the ball and played the ball to Read who strikes from distance which hit the cross bar before going past the line.

In the closing stages of the game there were chances for either team but the Bee’s done enough to hold on for all 3 points! The player of the match was awarded to Karen Abou-Abdallah after a first class performance.
