Lasse Vibe said that Brentford have ‘learnt from experience’ following the 2-1 victory over Norwich City. Much has been made of the side's record from leading positions this term, but The Bees stood firm at Carrow Road to elevate themselves to 11th in the Sky Bet Championship table.

“I’m glad that the boys were able to come through at the end,” said Lasse, scorer of both Brentford goals during a rampant first-half performance. “It wasn’t pretty at times but three points is all that matters. I think we’ve learnt from experience and saw the game out well this evening.”

The Dane was full of praise for Romaine Sawyers having been assisted for both strikes by the Saint Kitts and Nevis international:

“Romaine always knows where I am; he never looks, he’s just aware. He’s one of the most clever players I’ve ever played with – he’s very underrated. They were both great passes in the build up to the goals. For the second goal I thought we’d missed our opportunity, but he saw it out and waited for the gap to open again. That’s the kind of quality he’s got. I’m pleased for him, for myself and for the team. It was a good day.”

The Bees showed a clinical edge in East Anglia with Lasse’s first-time strikes silencing a raucous Carrow Road crowd.

“The difference tonight was us taking our chances,” stressed Lasse. “I’m not sure the first-half performance warranted a two-nil scoreline, but that’s the kind of half that we might have previously come away from one or two-nil down. Once we get on top we can sit back which plays into our hands because Ollie (Watkins), Flo (Jozefzoon) and Sergi (Canos) are very, very quick on the counter. Not many defenders are catching those three.”

The forward delivered positive news on the fitness front having been withdrawn ten minutes into the second half:

“I’m feeling good. We’d spoken before the match and agreed that I wasn’t ready for 90 minutes. I said that it would be reasonable to take me off in the second half and we’ve got the quality of player in Neal (Maupay) to come off the bench. Those fresh legs helped us win the game.”

With Aston Villa the visitors to TW8 on Boxing Day, Lasse issued a rallying cry to the Brentford faithful:

“It’ll be a different kind of game against an organised team. Boxing Day is always fun and I hope to see a lot of the fans even though it’s an evening game. We’d like to play under the lights in front of a full stadium, so I hope that all of our tremendous fans come to Griffin Park.”
