Lasse Vibe looked back on Brentford goalkeeper David Button’s superb save from David Garner in the second half, which kept The Bees in front after an intense spell of Preston pressure.

“I couldn’t believe it when I saw it,” said Lasse. “It was amazing. He made a mistake a couple of games ago but that’s about the only one he’s made. He’s made some amazing saves, is a great goalkeeper and showed that again today. We’ve seen that from him before so I’m not really surprised.”

Lasse gave his reaction to the victory, the first of 2016 for Dean Smith’s side.

“It was nice to get a win again,” said Lasse. “I thought for long periods we were the better team; we were struggling a little bit in the second half for a period of ten to 15 minutes where Butts pulled off some amazing saves but I thought we played really well and deserved the win.”

The Dane rebutted suggestions that the home side were overly physical in a game where two separate incidents could have led to red cards.

“To be honest I don’t think they were any more physical than other teams we’ve played,” said Lasse. “It was that sort of game that the ref’s got to make tough decisions and perhaps that’s why it looked more physical than it actually was.”

Despite the win, Lasse pointed out the need for the team to stick to the pre-match game plan more rigorously.

“I thought we gave them too much of the ball in the second half,” said Lasse. “We were playing longer balls towards me and Judgey, which is not really our game. We need to improve that and stick more to our game plan and get hold of the ball, because that’s what we’re good at.”
