The former Bees captain started with a summary of the game and a word on his players' performances.

"I’m very satisfied after today," said Kevin. "It was really pleasing. We were nice and solid, looked very good when attacking. I was really happy that everything came together today, and I’m really pleased for the players.

"We came up against strong opposition. They had four or five First Team players. I told them before the game, I said they had nothing to lose and they had to go and prove how good they are against quality opposition. In the first half we were absolutely fantastic."

The 36-year-old was impressed by his side's ability to see out the game. Rangers praised the team after the match for their relentlessness in pressing on their opponent.

"It was a mature second half," said Kevin. "We filled in when we had to and looked to counter them. We were nice and compact, nice and solid, and didn’t give anything away so it’s really pleasing to get the clean sheet and we could have had more.

"Today, everyone was on it and our pressing was brilliant. I’ve just said to them in the dressing room that we have to do that every game regardless of who we play against, not because you’re playing against a First Team player. You should do that every single game and that’s the level we hit when we do that."

The squad flew back to London in the hours after the game and will now take some time to analyse the game before meeting to discuss the positives and negatives of their performance.

"We’ll show the boys," said Kevin. "We travel back tonight and then we are back in on Friday. We’ll go through all the analysis to show all the good points we did and why we did them. We’ll look at the reason why we were able to do these good things. We’ll make the boys realise they can do that every game."

Asked about his thoughts on the Scotland trip as a whole, Kevin said: "It’s been very good. We had a great game on Sunday and to finish off with a 3-0, especially after we lost 5-2 to them earlier in the season, was nice to get a little bit of revenge on them."
