The youngster from Finland has had an impressive past year for Neil MacFarlane’s side with a series of consistent performances at the heart of the Brentford B midfield as they came up against sides from across the world during the campaign.
The 19-year-old played 30 times for the side last season, picking up four assists and one goal, as he helped the team to wins over the likes of Celtic’s Reserves, a Rangers XI and Pafos FC.
Jaakko also extended his Brentford B contract earlier this year, and having had another year of development at the club, he has recently joined AFC Wimbledon on loan for the 2020/21 season as he seeks to get some first team football under his belt.
Discussing being awarded the trophy, Jaakko said: “It’s pleasing to hear some good feedback and I’m really happy for it.
“The fact that I was able to keep myself fit and continued to work hard throughout the season. I feel that I performed alright throughout the whole season which was the biggest factor.
“We built a really good group last season and it was a shame that we had to stop the season early because the group was flying at the end of it.”
