The 24-year-old, who joined from Peterborough United in the summer, beat off fierce competition with just three per cent separating all six players on the September/October shortlist.

Ivan took 19 per cent of the vote, beating Adam Armstrong (Blackburn Rovers) and Asmir Begovic (AFC Bournemouth) into joint-second on 17 per cent with Jake Cooper (Millwall), Bradley Johnson (Blackburn Rovers) and Lucas Joao (Reading) just one per cent further back.

Our summer arrival got off the mark with a penalty during our 1-1 draw against Millwall in late September, kicking off a run of seven goals in four games. After netting both during our 4-2 defeat to Preston North End, he scored twice in our successive victories over Coventry City and Sheffield Wednesday. That goalscoring run saw him equal the record of a single player scoring seven consecutive goals for the Club.

He set up Marcus Forss for his first goal against Stoke City and then got the opener during a 1-1 draw at home to Norwich City. His ninth goal in as many games to begin the campaign was our second during the 3-0 win over Luton Town.

As well as taking the Give Me Sport award, Ivan earned a place in the WhoScored.com Team of the Month for October, achieving the highest rating of any Championship player during the month.
