Our Women’s First Team will play at the Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday 13 November for the first time in the side’s history. It’s set to be an exciting occasion and represents a brilliant day out for the family with more than 8,000 people having already secured their place for the 3pm kick-off.

The team compete in the London South East Regional Women’s Football League Division One North and they will welcome Watford Ladies Development to West London as the side aim to continue their positive run of form.

The regional division, which is two leagues below semi-professional, sees the First Team group compete every Sunday. They have also competed in two separate Cup competitions this season, the Vitality Women’s FA Cup, as well as the League Cup. The squad, while amateur in their playing status, are striving to progress up the leagues. Their training schedules need to be slotted into their busy working weeks with many studying or in employment full-time. It’s been a strong start in the opening months of the campaign, and they go in to Sunday’s match second in the league table.

Women’s First Team Manager Karleigh Osborne features on the Club’s Pre-Match Pint show this week and he is looking forward to an exciting day for the team. He said: “I can’t wait for Sunday, it’s going to be an amazing day for the girls and a historic one for Brentford as a Club.

“We’re fighting for promotion; this is what we want to achieve. We’re trying to move the Club forward and higher up the leagues if we can, but in the right way which is going to be sustainable long-term.

“We’re playing in a couple of leagues below the National League where it turns semi-pro from there and that’s where we are looking to get to. We’re heading in the right direction.”

The Women’s First Team aim to play attacking-minded football under Osborne and having scored 22 goals in just 11 games this season, the Manager hopes his players can put on a show for all fans in attendance.

He continued: “We play a good standard of football and we’ve scored some really nice goals; we have a talented group and I’m looking forward to the girls being able to show their quality on Sunday.”

Chloe Logie

Chloe Logie is the team's top scorer

Logie began her Brentford journey in the Women's B Team last season where she impressed Karleigh Osborne and his assistant Sean Hillier, leaving them to make the decision to select her as the First Team’s number nine for the 2022/23 campaign.

Since being given this opportunity, the striker has gone from strength to strength scoring 11 goals in 11 games in all competitions so far.

The side haven’t tasted defeat since early October when they bowed out of the FA Cup at the hands of Abingdon United. Since then, they have gone on to record wins against teams such as Newhaven, Denham United, Hackney Women’s as well as AFC Acorns, who they beat last time out in the League Cup.

Mollie Holmes is captain of the team and has played an integral role for the Bees this season in the middle of midfield, along with left-back Chloe Webb who is the longest server at the club.
