Brentford Football Club has extended the loan signing of defender Lee Hodson from Watford for the rest of the season.

The Northern Ireland international joined The Bees in November and has played six games.

His initial deal was set to expire on Sunday, January 13, but he has signed an extension.

The new loan deal will come in to force on Monday, January 14, and will keep Lee at Griffin Park until the end of the 2012/13 season.

Lee came through the youth ranks at Watford and played in The Championship before he had turned 18.

The 21-year-old has featured at both right back and left back for The Hornets since his debut in 2009 and had won nine caps for Northern Ireland.

He has also represented Northern Ireland at Under-21, Under-19 and Under-17 level.

Speaking to Bees Player after the FA Cup with Budweiser draw against Southend United on Saturday, Lee said: “I am happy, I am enjoying my time here.

“There are a great bunch of lads, a great manager and great coaching staff.

“The Club is in a great position, fighting for promotion, and it is great to be involved.”
