"The Rangers game was one of the best performances there have been in a while," said Herson, reflecting on the squad's last game in Scotland. "We played them last time and everything was all over the gaff, so for us to go up there, against five First Team players, and put in a performance that, we played very well.

"Everyone was happy, we got a clean sheet as well. Two clean sheets out there, so for me I thought all the boys gave a good performance."

Kevin O'Connor's side started brightly, with three goals in the first half before controlling the second to record a 3-0 victory in Glasgow.

"In the first half we did our job," said Herson. "In the second half, it was more us managing the game. Don't let the game go their way because if they get a goal back then they start getting motivated. We managed the game, we kept the ball, we went to attack, we defended well and we did everything as a group. That's what I think won us the game."

The B Team now face Manchester United U23s at Griffin Park tomorrow at 1pm, with entry free to spectators. Herson told us what he expects to see from The Red Devils.

"They have quality individually and as a group," he said. "If we do what we did against Rangers then it will be a totally different game. We are expecting them to be a good side.

"We played them last year, we got a result so we're just going to go out there to play our game and try to win."

Asked about the game from a player development perspective, Herson said: "For us, to play a team like this is only going to make us better. We are grateful to be playing against big teams so we can't complain about that too much."

Herson has played 24 of the 35 games on the B Team calendar this season so far and got himself seven goals. We asked him if he was happy with these numbers.

"Obviously I'm happy," he said. "I would like more minutes but I have my little injuries every now and then, so I have to keep focused. I have to keep playing until the end of the season.

"The goals aren't bad, obviously I'd want more and I hope I can get more before the end of the season. I am hoping for more around 12 or 15 so I'll try to work hard and get my goals."

Herson was speaking to iFollow from Brentford's ground-breaking ceremony for Lionel Road, hosted at One Over the Ait by Kew Bridge. He touched upon the importance of the day for the Club as a young B Team player.

"It is important," he said. "The Club is moving forward every single year so for us to go and get a new stadium is only right. The Club is getting bigger every year, we are pushing to get to the Premier League. For us to get this stadium is very good and Brentford is a family team so it's all great.

"Playing at Griffin Park has been good, I've got a couple of goals there. Going to the new stadium from Griffin Park, everyone is going to have memories because you can't just forget about it. It's been great for everyone playing there.

"Everything is different in the stadium. There's people watching, there's atmosphere even if it isn't a big one sometimes. There's still everyone getting on to you if you make a mistake and it's a great experience. For us, it's only going to make us better by going to a bigger stage and then making that First Team step."
