More than 80 girls from across west London signed up for an exciting football camp during October half-term. The camp is part of Brentford FC Community Sports Trust’s Kicks Girls programme, which encourages girls across the capital to play football and get active. Funded by the Premier League and the London Marathon Charitable Trust, the programme offers football and mentoring activities for teenage girls and aims to use the power of sport to improve the youngsters’ self-esteem and wellbeing.

Held at Bedfont Sports Club in Hounslow, this camp was the perfect introduction to the beautiful game. The girls started the camp with technical warm-ups before moving on to friendly matches.

Amber Lloyd, who leads on female football for Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, said: “It was fantastic to see so many girls attend our football camp with the main focus being on playing football and having fun. As part of our women and girls’ strategy, we are encouraging girls of all ages and abilities to join our free football sessions.”
