Henrik Dalsgaard will wear the number 14 shirt at the World Cup after the full list of squads for the tournament was announced. The 2018 FIFA World Cup will kick-off in Russia next week as the hosts start the tournament against Saudi Arabia on Thursday 14 June. All countries have named their final squads and Denmark included Brentford right back Henrik in theirs. With the publication of the lists came the squad number allocation and Henrik will wear the number 14 shirt.

The 28-year-old wore the number 22 shirt at Brentford last season but has usually worn 14 when playing for Denmark. He joined The Bees from Belgian side Sportvereniging Zulte Waregem last summer for undisclosed fee was agreed for his transfer and signed a three-year contract. Henrik played 32 games in all competition for Brentford last season, 29 in the Sky Bet Championship. He scored one goal, the winner against Nottingham Forest, and contributed three assists.

The Danes have been drawn in Group C for the tournament. They will face Peru, Australia and France as they look to reach the last 16 and, perhaps, progress further. They have one more match before the tournament, against Mexico on Saturday. They will then travel to Russia and play their first match against Peru on Saturday 16 June before games against Australia and France.

Henrik has earned ten caps for his country since his debut two years ago. Five of those caps were earned in the World Cup campaign and six since he joined Brentford last summer. He played 90 minutes in Denmark’s last friendly, a 0-0 draw against Sweden on Saturday. Henrik has also played for Denmark at Under-21 and Under-20 level.
