Will Grigg became Brentford’s first Northern Ireland International in sixty years on Wednesday night.
The Bees striker came on as an 86th minute substitute as the home side completed an impressive 1-0 victory over Russia at Windsor Park in Belfast, their first in the 2014 World Cup Qualifying campaign.
Brentford’s last home International footballer was Paul Evans, who represented Wales in 2002.
Northern Ireland are now placed fourth in the UEFA Group F table, behind Israel, Russia and Portugal, who they face at home on September 6.
The forward, who scored two in Brentford’s victory over Sheffield United, will return in time for selection for Saturday’s Sky Bet League One fixture at Gillingham.
