- Romaine Theodore Sawyers was born on 2nd November 1991, in Birmingham.
- He has signed a four-year deal at Griffin Park to take him through to the end of the 2019/20 season.
- The midfielder joined West Bromwich Albion in 2004 and was an unused substitute for The Baggies' final game of the 2008/09 Premier League season, a 0-0 draw against Blackburn Rovers.
- Port Vale gave Romaine his professional debut as he appeared in a 1-0 defeat to Cheltenham Town at Vale Park in January 2011.
- A year later the midfielder joined Shrewsbury Town, making seven appearances in League Two.
- Romaine linked up with current Brentford boss Dean Smith’s Walsall in March 2013 and made four appearances for The Saddlers in the final weeks of the season.
- After nine years at West Bromwich Albion, he joined Walsall permanently in July 2013 on a one-year deal.
- His first professional goal came in a 1-1 draw with Notts County in August 2013 and he added six more in his first full season to finish with seven goals in 49 matches. Romaine’s form in his debut season saw him awarded a new two-year deal through to July 2016.
- The 2014/15 season saw Romaine add five goals in 51 appearances and earn himself a Wembley appearance in the Football League Trophy final, which The Saddlers lost 2-0 to Bristol City
- Last season Romaine played all 57 of Walsall’s fixtures as they reached the League Cup Third Round, FA Cup Fourth Round, and League One Play-Off Semi-Finals. His performances saw him named in the PFA League One Team of the Season and he finished runner up to Bradley Dack in the PFA League One Player of the Year.
- The Bees’ first recruit of the summer has scored 19 goals in his career so far, never on the losing side when he has found the net with ten wins and eight draws.
- His first visit to Griffin Park was in August 2013 when a Clayton Donaldson goal decided matters in The Bees favour. His other two meetings with The Bees were a 1-1 draw at The Bescot in January 2014 and last season’s 1-0 FA Cup win for The Saddlers at Griffin Park.
- Internationally Romaine plays for St Kitts and St Nevis. He had a dream international debut, scoring one and setting up the other, in a 2-0 win against Anguilla in October 2012. Romaine made his 18th appearance for his country last month as they beat El Salvador in Round Two of qualifying for the 2017 Caribbean Cup.
