There are a range of activities planned for matchday which will help to shine a spotlight on our women footballers and encourage future generations to get involved in one of the fastest growing sports in the UK. Over the course of the week, we will be sharing the stories of some of our women footballers and staff, starting with Brentford Women’s First-Team captain Lisa Grant:
Position: Midfielder
When did you start playing football: 8 years old
How did you get into football: Watching my next door neighbour do keepy uppys and he asked if I wanted to try. It all started from there
Who is your footballing idol: David Beckham
What's your best footballing memory: Doing a record of 1026 keepy uppys in the park infront of friends
How long have you played for Brentford: 17 seasons
Other clubs played for: Played for no other clubs
Best thing about playing for Brentford Women: I love that we are like no other team and it feels like one big family! I have so many amazing memories from playing for this club. Over the past 17 years I've played alongside some amazing players and made some friends for life. However, my main honour has got to be wearing the Captain's armband for the only team I've ever loved and played for.
