Brentford FC Futsal Club travel to The Score Centre, Leyton Orient, this afternoon for a double bill against Premier League side Chelsea with The Futsal Bees 'B' knowing that Chelsea ‘B’ will have to pull off the result of the season to deny them the final League 2 play-off place.
Last time out Brentford put themselves in poll position with a comprehensive win against Southend. The Blues were denied the chance to do something similar against Peterborough United ‘B’ as they defaulted on their second successive game. This meant a 5-0 win recorded for Chelsea but did not help their cause. Frankie Finn will hope to maintain his record as leading all-time Bees goal scorer, with 29 goals, only ‘A’ team, Azhan Iqbal, a goal behind can realistically catch him.
Brentford FC Futsal Club ‘A’ team go into their final regular league season match having already secured their League 1 berth in the Football League Trust Futsal National Play-Offs. They have also wrapped up the runners-up spot. The Bees will be looking to recapture the form which led to impressive wins over Southampton, Chelsea and Norwich. Form and performances have dipped in the last few games with Bees Head Coach, Luis Melville calling on the squad 'to recapture the performances against Norwich, Southampton and Chelsea’.
One incentive for The Bees is that England’s Assistant Head Futsal Coach, Ian Bateman will be present to watch the games.
