Brentford FC announced earlier this weekthe start of a process to recruit an Independent Non-Executive Director to sit on the Board of Directors, which attracted the interest of the media. We are looking for a new person to sit on our Board with the right mix of skills, knowledge and energy to help us do that. In order to complement the skills of our existing directors, we are looking for someone with demonstrable senior experience and skills in the areas of community, supporter or stakeholder engagement.
Our key Board objectives are based on our desire to become the most inclusive club in the country, growing and diversifying our supporter base, delivering outstanding fan and community engagement and increasing our revenues through purpose led commercial partnerships. In order to realise our ambitions, we realise diversity must run through the entire organisation and must start from the top. The announcement can be seen in full here. Sky Sports News worked with Brentford FC to release this story. Directors Monique Choudhuri and Nity Raj spoke to the broadcaster and there was coverage across Sky platforms. Some of the coverage has already been shared by the Club, but there is more to see.
Nity Raj says the club is looking for a diverse range of candidates for the new non-executive director role they have advertised.
Monique Choudhuri explains how the club are changing their recruitment practices in an effort to become more diverse at every level.
Monique Choudhuri says diverse communities must be represented in large numbers across all levels of the game.
Monique Choudhuri says a top-down approach to diversity will result in Brentford becoming a more 'cognitively diverse' football club.
