This is Mr Hooper’s seventh season refereeing Football League games and he has been in charge of Brentford eight times in that period.

His first Bees appointment was the 1-1 draw with Aldershot Town in October 2008 and his other seven games have seen Brentford at Griffin Park.

There were two 3-1 losses – by Bristol Rovers in September 2009 and Rochdale in August 2010 – and he was in charge of Brentford’s 1-0 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion in March 2011.

He has also taken charge of two Brentford v Stevenage matches, a 1-0 win for the Hertfordshire side in October 2011 and when The Bees won 2-0 in February 2013, and when The Bees beat Bury 3-0 in April 2012.

His last Brentford match was the televised clash with Middlesbrough in January.
