Brentford have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2025/26 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.
Scout will be using their expertise to provide info, advice and Gameweek tips which may prove useful in ensuring you sit on top of your mini-leagues.
Best of the Bees
A second successive 0-0 on the road means Brentford have kept three clean sheets in five away games and remain seventh in the league table.
Dango Ouattara (£6.0m) owners will have been disappointed that the midfielder was not fit enough to start the match against Leeds, but his 13-minute appearance off the bench is a sure sign to hold ahead of Gameweek 33’s clash with Everton.
Caoimhín Kelleher (£4.8m) made several saves and reached nine points, bettered only by Ethan Pinnock (£4.2m), who was rewarded for his number of defensive contributions. In fact, three other Bees were also given extra points for this, including Igor Thiago (£7.3m) - just the third FPL forward to achieve this all season.
On Saturday, Keith Andrews’ side gets to host Everton. A big match in the chase for European qualification for the 2026/27 season. Thiago’s owners will be hoping for a hat-trick, like in January’s reverse meeting.
The Spotlight
In defence, Sepp van den Berg (£4.6m), Nathan Collins (£4.9m) and Kristoffer Ajer (£4.4m) have usually been competing for two centre-back spots, making FPL investment tricky. But van den Berg has started Brentford’s last eight.
Though still without a goal this season, he’s assisted twice in this recent run. Over the latest six Gameweeks, the only defender to accumulate a higher number of shots inside the box is Manchester City’s Nico O’Reilly (£5.0m), while none have had more headed attempts (seven).
In 2024/25, just five defenders did better in this category, and they all played at least 500 more minutes than van den Berg.
Best of the Rest
Blank Gameweek 31 feels like a long time ago, taking place before all these international, FA Cup and continental encounters.
For those with good memories, there were only eight matches, due to the EFL Cup final.
Beto’s (£5.0m) brace and assist delivered 16 points and a win over Chelsea, with Neco Williams (£4.7m) one behind after setting up two goals and securing a clean sheet.
The Nottingham Forest full-back is the leading 2025/26 defender for attempts (35) and shots on target (15), also ranking fourth for chances created (30).
Meanwhile, both Bruno Fernandes (£10.3m) and Josh King (£4.4m) registered both a goal and an assist to secure 13 points.
In Demand
The first fortnight of this three-week break saw very little transfer movement, as millions waited patiently for FA Cup results to finalise these upcoming Blank and Double Gameweeks.
Now we know that six teams will play twice in Gameweek 33, but those six teams will also blank in Gameweek 34 as it clashes with the FA Cup semi-finals. Those teams are Bournemouth, Brighton, Burnley, Chelsea, Leeds and Manchester City, and all six are likely to pique the interest of FPL managers for their double.
This knowledge also means that FPL managers are now able to settle on a chip strategy for this exciting final stretch.
As of now, the most-bought individuals are Danny Welbeck (£6.2m) and Fernandes, but expect bursts in popularity for Jarrod Bowen (£7.6m) and Anthony Gordon (£7.4m) for those managers without a Wildcard and several Man City players.
Captaincy
Erling Haaland’s (£14.4m) poor league form has led to many recent sales and price drops, but last Saturday’s FA Cup hat-trick suggests that he’s fully rested and ready to go.
Trusting a Liverpool asset at home to in-form Fulham is tough because it’s surrounded by Champions League quarter-finals versus Paris Saint-Germain, so the best armband contender is probably Manchester United’s Fernandes.
Not only did the midfielder haul away at Bournemouth, but his last six home outings have all ended on double digits. It’s an absurd run that owners hope will continue against Leeds on Monday.
