Brentford have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2025/26 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.

Scout will be using their expertise to provide info, advice and Gameweek tips which may prove useful in ensuring you sit on top of your mini-leagues.

Best of the Bees

The Bees might have been thwarted by a couple of first-half strikes in Gameweek 27, but there are still a lot of positives to take as we head into Gameweek 28.

Brentford racked up more shots than their visitors, created eight chances and supplied 21 crosses at Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Early on, Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen (£4.5m) rushed out and cleared straight to Mathias Jensen (£4.9m), but the Dane’s subsequent shot couldn’t successfully lob the goalkeeper. Mikkel Damsgaard (£5.6m) was also unlucky not to convert his big chance.

At the other end, Caoimhín Kelleher (£4.6m) made five saves, collecting an extra point, while centre-back Sepp van den Berg (£4.5m) was rewarded with two additional points for reaching 12 defensive contribution actions. He had a couple of close-range headers, too.

The Spotlight

Igor Thiago (£7.1m) set up a big chance for Dango Ouattara (£5.9m) in Gameweek 27, nodding down a free-kick to his team-mate, who was lingering just inside the six-yard box. Unfortunately, the shot went just off target.

Despite the blank in Gameweek 27, many managers are in the market for a new midfielder to replace the likes of Enzo Fernández (£6.8m) as Chelsea’s fixtures turn and Declan Rice (£7.6m) ahead of a blank in Gameweek 31.

Those managers will be encouraged by Ouattara's attacking threat. The midfielder's late cross almost resulted in a Brentford goal, as it hit Joël Veltman’s (£4.3m) thigh and brought a great reaction stop from Verbruggen.

If FPL managers want an alternative - or extra - option to Thiago when covering the Bees’ attack, Ouattara is cheaper than Kevin Schade (£6.9m) and on more points, despite playing fewer minutes.

He betters the German when it comes to double-digit hauls, while, from the 12 occasions they’ve started together, he’s emerged with exactly twice the amount of points.

Also, throughout the league, no individual has won more penalties (four).

Best of the Rest

Elsewhere, FPL defender Nico O’Reilly (£5.0m) is playing in midfield and bagged a brace versus Newcastle United, bringing in 17 points.

Marginally behind is goalkeeper Dean Henderson (£5.0m), finishing on 16 thanks to his clean sheet, penalty save, multiple other stops, and three bonus points.

In the north London derby, Arsenal duo Eberechi Eze (£7.2m) and Viktor Gyökeres (£8.8m) both scored twice past Tottenham Hotspur. Matching the latter’s 13 points was Alex Iwobi (£6.3m), producing a goal and assist against Sunderland.

Alexis Mac Allister (£6.2m) only needed one FPL return to equal this, adding defensive contributions to his dramatic stoppage-time winner at Nottingham Forest.

In Demand

Like O’Reilly, we’ve seen Virgil van Dijk (£6.0m) secure successive double-digit hauls in defence. These are currently the two most-bought players. Rejuvenated in recent weeks, the Liverpool captain is about to face West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham.

On the other hand, now is a convenient time to jump off Chelsea assets, as their upcoming fixtures seem to be taking a nasty swing. Enzo Fernandez and Trevoh Chalobah (£5.8m) are therefore being sold by many.

Captaincy

The Blues visit Arsenal on Sunday, making captaincy unappealing for several big-name players.

Instead, managers will be looking to place their armbands on Erling Haaland (£14.8m) at Leeds United, Bruno Fernandes (£9.9m) versus Crystal Palace, or a Liverpool attacker at home to West Ham.

Knowing which Liverpool asset to trust is difficult, as Florian Wirtz (£8.4m) failed to feature in Gameweek 27, having been injured in the warm-up, whilst Hugo Ekitike (£8.9m) has scored in only one of his last seven starts, blanking against Wolves, Leeds, Burnley, Sunderland and Nottingham Forest.
