Brentford have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2025/26 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.
Scout will be using their expertise to provide info, advice and Gameweek tips which may prove useful in ensuring you sit on top of your mini-leagues.
Best of the Bees
Igor Thiago (£7.2m) was the second most transferred in player ahead of Gameweek 16 with 1,589,697 managers investing in the forward. His new owners will have been disappointed to see an awarded penalty ruled out by VAR, however Gameweek 17’s trip to Wolves keeps him a popular target for managers.
Whilst Brentford couldn’t clinch a fourth-consecutive home win, there was a lot to feel positive about from an FPL perspective.
Mikkel Damsgaard (£5.8m) and Rico Henry (£4.3m) combined brilliantly in the build-up to the opening goal, with a low cross pushed into the path of an onrushing Jordan Henderson (£5.0m)
Damsgaard and Henry replaced Keane Lewis-Potter (£4.8m) and Aaron Hickey (£4.0m) on the hour mark, allowing the departing duo to secure clean sheet points before Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£5.6m) equalised late on.
The Spotlight
Although Dango Ouattara (£6.0m) and Frank Onyeka (£4.8m) are now away at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Kevin Schade (£7.0m) will be back from a one-match suspension.
A very interesting defensive punt would be right-back Michael Kayode (£4.5m). Whilst the 21-year-old only has one attacking return so far, his performances keep catching the eye.
Marc Cucurella (£6.2m) is the sole defender to have created more chances than his 18 and, as no team beats Brentford for chances deriving from throw-ins (30), Kayode is frequently causing chaos to opposing backlines.
Indeed, he’s the league-leading individual for total throws (181), getting them into the box (78) and successfully reaching a penalty area team-mate (14).
Best of the Rest
Elsewhere, Callum Hudson-Odoi (£5.7m) and Ibrahim Sangaré (£4.9m) kept setting each other up in Nottingham Forest’s 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur. They brought in 19 and 18 points respectively.
Chelsea’s Malo Gusto (£4.9m) totalled 18 too. The Frenchman’s goal, assist and clean sheet betters the 15-point home haul that he achieved in Gameweek 11.
At London Stadium, a Morgan Rogers (£7.1m) brace helped Aston Villa secure their 10th win in 11 league games, while forwards Erling Haaland (£15.0m) and Hugo Ekitiké (£8.6m) also netted twice, bringing in 13 points.
In Demand
Harry Wilson (£5.6m) is currently far in front as this week’s most-bought asset. The Fulham midfielder now has three goals and four assists in the last four matches.
The only players to have more points in this timeframe are Phil Foden (£8.8m), whose four consecutive double-digit hauls refuse to slow down his rate of price rises, and Bruno Fernandes (£9.3m).
Understandably, a few of the most-sold players heading into Gameweek 17 are those going to AFCON, such as Bryan Mbeumo (£8.2m) and Iliman Ndiaye (£6.4m). But, in the cases of Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.8m) and Nick Woltemade (£7.4m), managers are simply giving up on their frustrating recent outings.
Captaincy
On Saturday night, many thought they’d made the right choice by captaining Bukayo Saka (£10.3m) at home to Wolves. Two assists and three bonuses took him to 11 points.
But Erling Haaland still found a way to outdo this, and it’s hard to see such managers making the same decision in Gameweek 17, because the Norwegian is facing West Ham.
Then again, the delightfully maverick ones might choose to place their armband on either Antoine Semenyo (£7.5m) or Thiago, who face Burnley and Wolves respectively.
