Brentford have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2025/26 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.
Scout will be using their expertise to provide info, advice and Gameweek tips which may prove useful in ensuring you sit on top of your mini-leagues.
Best of the Bees
Whilst Saturday afternoon ended in disappointment, Gameweek 16 takes Brentford back to Gtech Community Stadium. Only three teams have more home points, including two that have played an extra match at home to date.
Keith Andrews made four changes from the match at Arsenal for the game against Tottenham on Saturday. One was the reinstatement of centre-forward Igor Thiago (£6.9m) to the starting XI.
Thiago has been responsible for each of the Bees’ latest three shots inside the box. This included one big chance in the final moments of Saturday’s fixture. Alas, it hit the side netting following Vitaly Janelt’s (£4.9m) cushioned header.
But at least FPL owners of Dango Ouattara (£6.0m), Jordan Henderson (£5.0m) and Nathan Collins (£4.9m) were able to receive two additional defensive contribution points.
The Spotlight
Attacker Kevin Schade (£7.0m) picked up his fifth yellow card in Gameweek 15, meaning he’s suspended for Sunday’s match. That puts even more responsibility onto striker and penalty-taker Thiago.
The Brazilian is FPL’s third-most owned forward, having been bought 3.56 million times since his Gameweek 9 goal versus Liverpool. He’s netted another five times in five subsequent starts.
Nobody boasts more transfers during this time, and another flurry is taking place before back-to-back meetings against Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Thiago’s 11 goals and 33 penalty area shots are only bettered by Erling Haaland (£15.0m), as he also ranks fourth for overall attempts on target (20) and third for big chances (19).
Impressively, three home games have ended with Thiago scoring twice and delivering 13 points.
Best of the Rest
Elsewhere, Monday night’s assist and two goals made Bruno Fernandes (£9.0m) the Gameweek’s top scorer.
Bargain midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (£5.1m) bagged his third goal in four matches. Combined with an assist, two defensive contribution points and bonuses, he totalled 16 points.
Xavi Simons (£6.5m) and Rúben Dias (£5.6m) both registered 14 points, while Phil Foden (£8.6m) completed an exceptional week.
Heading into Gameweek 13, Haaland was the sole Manchester City player to have more than one league goal. Suddenly, Foden struck five times against Leeds, Fulham and Sunderland, racking up 44 points.
In Demand
Due to the imminent African Cup of Nations tournament, temporarily taking away Mohamed Salah (£14.0m), Bryan Mbeumo (£8.4m), Ismaïla Sarr (£6.5m), Ouattara and more, all FPL managers have now been topped up to five free transfers.
Therefore, a vast number of transfers and price changes are happening. Foden is unsurprisingly the top target. Also popular are Thiago, Dewsbury-Hall and Newcastle’s Bruno Guimarães (£6.9m).
Highly-owned names like Jean-Philippe Mateta (£8.0m) and Antoine Semenyo (£7.6m) are being sold because of their disappointing returns of late.
Captaincy
In three successive matches, Bukayo Saka (£10.2m) has registered either a goal or an assist, meaning he could edge out Haaland as the main captaincy choice. The latter has a tricky trip to Crystal Palace, whilst Saka faces bottom-of-the-table Wolves.
Other armband candidates include Thiago and Fernandes.
