Brentford have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2025/26 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.
Scout will be using their expertise to provide info, advice and Gameweek tips which may prove useful in ensuring you sit on top of your mini-leagues.
Best of the Bees
The midweek round saw Igor Thiago (£6.7m) benched, much to the disappointment of FPL managers. However, with so much rotation across the league, managers will have been pleased to see him come off the bench to ensure that they had a full XI players.
Brentford had some good opportunities against the current league leaders, no less than Kevin Schade’s (£7.0m) powerful header which was brilliantly tipped onto the crossbar by David Raya (£5.9m).
This moment came from a Vitaly Janelt (£4.9m) corner, in what was the 27-year-old’s first league start of the campaign.
Ethan Pinnock’s (£4.3m) defensive contribution rewards helped him become the Bees’ top scorer of the night with four points.
The Spotlight
Last season, the sole outfield player to play every single Premier League minute was Brentford centre-back Nathan Collins (£4.9m).
Until Wednesday night, he’d not missed any of this one either. But he and Mikkel Damsgaard (£5.8m) were given a breather, restricted to cameo appearances that keep them fresh for Saturday’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur.
Collins was an underrated FPL asset in 2024/25, contributing two goals and seven assists, while being the sixth-best defender for big chances (six).
That led to a price rise for 2025/26, but no attacking returns have arrived so far.
However, he had two big chances in the 3-1 win against Burnley in Gameweek 13, setting up similarly huge opportunities for team-mates against Manchester United and Newcastle.
Just two defenders can better Collins’ eight headed attempts, and he’s received defensive contribution points on seven occasions.
Best of the Rest
Elsewhere, Spurs centre-back Cristian Romero (£5.0m) equalised twice at Newcastle to put him on 17 points, matched by Phil Foden (£8.2m) for his brace on Wednesday evening.
We also saw midweek braces for Ollie Watkins (£8.5m), Jan Paul van Hecke (£4.4m) and Samuel Chukwueze (£5.3m).
Impressively, the latter didn’t come on until half-time of the Fulham v Manchester City thriller that had Erling Haaland (£14.9m) net once and assist twice for 14 points.
That’s the same haul as Ben White (£5.3m), following his two assists and a clean sheet, as well as Crystal Palace pair Daniel Muñoz (£6.0m) and Marc Guéhi (£5.1m).
Not only did the Eagles keep Burnley out for a seventh clean sheet, but this duo combined for the Colombian’s headed goal. They’ve overtaken the injured Gabriel Magalhães (£6.3m) to be FPL’s two highest-scoring defenders.
In Demand
FPL managers have another quick turnaround to deal with before Saturday’s lunchtime deadline.
Unsurprisingly, in-form Foden is miles ahead of the rest for Gameweek 15 purchases because his latest two outings have featured four goals and 32 points.
Thiago is also a popular target for managers this week, as is Newcastle’s Bruno Guimarães (£6.7m), who came off the bench to put the Magpies in front against Spurs. About to host Burnley, he has three goals and three assists from his last four at St James’ Park.
Guimarães is a popular replacement for Antoine Semenyo (£7.7m). Bournemouth’s attacker had an excellent, explosive start to the season but hasn’t provided any attacking returns since Gameweek 8.
Captaincy
Haaland’s return to scoring goals came at a good time, but facing Sunderland is more difficult than initially assumed.
Many will place their armband on the Norwegian because he leads the way in so many attacking areas, but there’ll be a temptation to attack the Newcastle and Manchester United fixtures against Burnley and Wolves, especially the likes of Nick Woltemade (£7.4m), Bruno Fernandes (£9.0m) and Bryan Mbeumo (£8.6m).
