Brentford have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2025/26 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.

Scout will be using their expertise to provide info, advice and Gameweek tips which may prove useful in ensuring you sit on top of your mini-leagues.

Best of the Bees

It took a while to break Saturday’s deadlock against Burnley but, once it happened, the game burst into life and ended 3-1. Brentford are now on a superb five wins and one draw from seven home matches, boasting a 16-point tally that only Manchester City can better.

Dango Ouattara (£6.0m) went down to win Brentford another penalty - the seventh the Bees have been awarded in the league this season. This was subsequently scored by Igor Thiago (£6.7m).

The Bees' second goal came from a Jordan Henderson’s (£5.0m) cross, which was smashed in by Thiago - the Brazilian’s fifth strike in three matches. His 11 goals are only behind the 14 of Erling Haaland (£14.9m). Impressively, nobody else in the game is on more than seven.

Meanwhile, Aaron Hickey (£4.0m) was taken off with a clean sheet and defensive contribution (DefCon) points. Defenders achieve these by making 10 clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles.

Nathan Collins (£4.9m) accumulated a whopping 22 DefCon points in Gameweek 13, the highest that any defender has managed in a single game this season.

The Spotlight

Although not credited with an assist for Thiago’s second goal, Henderson was rewarded for Ouattara’s stoppage-time goal. The midfielder also registered DefCon points in Gameweek 13.

Only a few Premier League names have set up more big chances (five) between Gameweeks 6 and 13 than Henderson. One of these, Sean Longstaff (£4.9m), is injured for the next month.

Henderson has three assists and 12 consecutive league starts, which is handy for this upcoming period of fixture congestion.

Best of the Rest

Gameweek 13 was the most popular one so far for FPL chip activations. Almost 2,000,000 managers played a chip last weekend, with most of these using either the Free Hit or Triple Captain chips.

Newcastle defender Malick Thiaw (£4.9m) netted twice to secure a 16-point haul, as team-mate Lewis Miley (£4.4m) bagged 15 for himself.

Maxim De Cuyper (£4.3m) and Phil Foden (£8.1m) also reached 15 points. The latter scored early and late versus Leeds, before Cody Gakpo (£7.5m) returned 14 points in a match where Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah (£14.1m) didn’t come off the bench.

In Demand

This week contains two gameweek deadlines. The first of which is for Gameweek 14 on Tuesday evening at 6pm GMT.

Ahead of the deadline, Thiago is currently the most-bought asset, ahead of Foden and Jurrien Timber (£6.4m), who are both also in demand.

Marcos Senesi (£5.0m) and Moisés Caicedo (£6.0m) will be suspended in Gameweek 14, and this is resulting in many managers selling them. Meanwhile, midfielder Ismaïla Sarr (£6.7m) has an ankle issue that could keep him out of Crystal Palace action between now and his African Cup of Nations departure.

Captaincy

Haaland is usually the default pick, but he’s on successive blanks and travels to a Fulham side that has recorded back-to-back wins.

Those with the confidence to look elsewhere might choose Bruno Fernandes (£8.9m) or Bryan Mbeumo (£8.6m) at home to West Ham.

Liverpool’s hosting of Sunderland looks trickier than originally anticipated, but Mohamed Salah has had his rest. That captaincy could prove fruitful.

Bukayo Saka (£10.1m) will likely be popular too.
