Brentford have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2025/26 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.

Scout will be using their expertise to provide info, advice and Gameweek tips which may prove useful in ensuring you sit on top of your mini-leagues.

Best of the Bees

Heading into Saturday’s clash at the Amex, both Brentford and Brighton were on 16 points and 17 goals, hinting at a close encounter.

And it began well for The Bees, when a lovely flick by the touchline from Igor Thiago (£6.5m) sent Dango Ouattara (£6.0m) through on goal, attracting a foul inside the box. Thiago coolly sent Bart Verbruggen (£4.4m) the wrong way to secure his ninth goal of the season.

At the other end, Caoimhín Kelleher (£4.5m) made a good save from Yankuba Minteh’s (£6.1m) tight-angled shot, but couldn’t stop Danny Welbeck’s (£6.6m) equaliser.

There were plenty of other good opportunities for the Bees during the game. Thiago met Kevin Schade’s (£7.0m) chest-down and eventually poked the ball towards a Michael Kayode (£4.5m) shot, before Schade was pulled down to win another penalty.

The Spotlight

Meanwhile, defender Sepp van den Berg (£4.5m) once again secured defensive contribution (DefCon) points. He’s one of several Bees assets worth buying for Gameweek 13, at home to Burnley.

Schade is particularly interesting. After Thiago, he’s the Brentford player with the most attempts (19) and shots on target (seven), behind only Jordan Henderson (£5.0m) for creating big chances (three).

The German international’s FPL ownership is low, having been handed a hefty summer price rise. This was a response to last season’s 11 goals, four assists and 149 points.

Throughout the whole league, he finished joint-fifth for headed efforts (22) and, right now, sits joint-fourth for them (nine). At the same time, Burnley have conceded the second-most of these (45) and no defence has leaked more overall attempts (207) than the Clarets.

Boasting two goals in his last four matches, Schade is an enticing differential option.

Best of the Rest

Elsewhere, an Eberechi Eze (£7.7m) hat-trick in the north London derby saw him register 20 points, the most in the Gameweek. This was closely followed by the 17 of Murillo (£5.3m).

Nottingham Forest repeated last season’s shock win and shut-out at Anfield, but this time by a bigger margin. Their impressive centre-back fired in the opener from a set-piece.

Midfield duo Morgan Rogers (£6.8m) and Harvey Barnes (£6.3m) both scored a brace and collected 15 points, while Daniel Muñoz (£5.9m) added a goal on top of Crystal Palace’s clean sheet. No defender has produced more attacking returns (five) or shots on target (seven).

In Demand

That’s why Muñoz is currently the third-most bought player heading into Gameweek 13. Brentford's very own Thiago leads the way, ahead of Eze.

Whereas the Gabriel Magalhães (£6.4m) sales continue. He was FPL’s highest-owned defender until a thigh injury from the international break brought 1.8 million sales before Gameweek 12’s deadline.

Another 450,000 have since got rid, as the Arsenal star will miss several weeks - not good when so many Fantasy deadlines are coming in quick succession.

Also being ditched is Antoine Semenyo (£8.0m). The top-scoring midfielder had blanked in three consecutive matches before being deemed too ill to play last Saturday.

Captaincy

Erling Haaland (£14.9m) continued his poor record against Newcastle by producing nothing at St James’ Park. Next up, the forward is back to where he was born: Leeds.

Managers might be tempted to use their Triple Captain chip here, if it’s still available, although backing a differential captain such as Thiago at home to Burnley or any Aston Villa attacker at home to Wolves could prove fruitful.

Some will have picked out this occasion to captain a Liverpool name like Mohamed Salah (£14.2m) or Cody Gakpo (£7.5m), but the champions are in a difficult run of form, and their goals tend to be spread out.
