Four members of the club's Hall of Fame have already been confirmed as special guests for our 4000th League game at home to Barnsley later this month. Peter Gelson, Bob Booker, Jackie Graham, and Kevin O’Connor will all at Griffin Park on Saturday 22 October to help celebrate our EFL milestone. The quartet have more than 1700 appearances in red and white stripes between them covering more than half a century.

Peter spent 15 years at Brentford between 1960 and 1975, amassing 517 appearances, 18 goals, and two promotions at the heart of The Bees backline. Only Ken Coote and Jamie Bates have made more appearances in the club’s history than the tough tackling defender and Peter’s loyalty saw him rewarded with two well-supported testimonials.

Jackie arrived in 1970 and made an instant impression, missing just five games in his first two seasons as The Bees earned promotion during the 1971/72 season. A commanding central midfielder Jackie was named the Players’ Player of the Year in the 71/72 and 77/78 promotion winning seasons. The Glasgow-born midfielder left Griffin Park in 1980 after making 409 appearances and scoring 40 goals only to receive a standing ovation when he returned a year later with Addlestone in the FA Cup.

Bob was the ultimate utility player, playing in every position except goalkeeper during his two spells at Griffin Park during the 1980s and 1990s. A real fans favourite, Bob was named the Player of the Year for the 1982/83 season and was part of the side that reached the 1985 Freight Rover Trophy final. Following a successful spell with Sheffield United, Bob returned to Griffin Park in 1990 and helped The Bees to win the 1991/92 Third Division crown. Injury forced him to retire a year later after 323 appearances and 48 goals but he returned to Griffin Park a year later for a six-year spell as Youth Team manager.

Kevin’s connection with Brentford is now in its 21st year as the one club man continues to work to bring through the next generation of Bees with the B Team. During his playing career Kevin featured 501 times for the club, many of them as captain, and scored 44 goals over a 15-year spell, earning promotion in 2009 and 2014. Kevin remains the only person to have been inducted into the Hall of Fame while still at the club and sits fourth on our all-time appearances list.
