The historic meeting in the Oxford and Cambridge Public House on October 10th 1889 was given modern coverage last week as part of the club's 125th Anniversary celebrations.
It was on October 10th that Brentford Rowing Club met on the banks of the River Thames to decide on the formation of a winter sports club for its members.
That meeting gave rise to Brentford Football Club which, 125 years later, is still going strong.
To help celebrate The Bees 125th Anniversary this year the events of that night were re-told using Brentford's Twitter (
) account last Friday evening.
Using archived news reports 'live updates' from the meeting were tweeted as the Rowing Club members decided on their winter sport of choice.
Those tweets have now been collated into a timeline to tell the full story of that meeting 125 years ago.
Supporters can read the live updates of the meeting on Brentford's Storify page
