B Team Head Coach Flemming Pedersen spoke to Bees Player following his side's 3-2 win over Manchester United on Saturday afternoon. A crowd of more than a thousand spectators watched The Bees narrowly edge out a strong United U23s squad. Flemming was really proud of his team's display.
"I'm very happy for the boys because it was a great win against a famous club," said Flemming. "I think we showed today that we are able to play on the same level."
"We invested a lot in the first half, it was 2-0 at half time, they only had one shot at our goal. It was a brilliant first half, we could have scored when Tom Field hit the post. Then we struggled in the second half, even with the third goal we couldn't keep the pressure on the ball. That's when Manchester showed how good they are individually and scored a couple of good goals."
The B Team travel to Wigan Athletic on Tuesday 8 November, something that will be good training for players hoping to make the First Team.
"In the Championship you play another game in three days and now we have to do the same. Now we will let some of the players stay at home so we can have some fresh legs playing against Wigan. There should be no excuse to play a very good game in Wigan."
