Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has highlighted the difficulties his side will face when they travel to Anfield to face Liverpool on Saturday - but the Bees boss still has plenty of belief that his side can get something from the game.

He described Anfield as one of 'the most difficult grounds to go to' and the Reds as one of 'the most difficult teams to play' ahead of Brentford's trip to Merseyside.

But, after beating Jurgen Klopp's side 3-1 at the Gtech Community Stadium earlier this season, Frank believes his team are more than capable of getting a result this weekend.

“They're on a decent run. They’re a fantastic club, fantastic players and a fantastic manager," the head coach said.

“When it's rocking, Anfield is one of the most difficult grounds to go to. We experienced that last season, 3-0, clear defeat. So there's a mountain to climb on Saturday.

“The flip side is that we always believe that we can do something in any game - that's brought us to where we are today. But, obviously, they are clear favourites.”

He added: “We've seen Liverpool in some remarkable wins throughout the season - I don't know enough about them and why they haven't been more consistent.

“I think the job they have done there over the last four or five seasons should have brought even more titles, I think they have been quite unlucky.

“I love the way they play. I think they're probably the most difficult team to play when they are on their maximum capacity because they are so good at playing direct.

“They play a lot in behind, they play crosses in, they combine, and they have top players, so it’s very difficult to close them down.”
