Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has confirmed that defender Mads Roerslev will be assessed ahead of the Bees' visit to Southampton on Wednesday.

The right-back was unavailable for the 1-0 defeat to Everton last weekend, but his boss hopes he'll be available to face the Saints.

When asked if the same squad for Saturday's game will travel to the south coast, Frank said: "Yes, I think the only one is Mads Roerslev, who is being assessed today. So, we’ll see if he can make the squad.”

He added: "It's a minor hamstring issue, so hopefully he'll be available. It happened in training."

Frank will want to have Roerslev back for what he described as a "very difficult game" at St Mary's, against a Southampton side who are trying to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

The Saints have taken four points from their last two games, and Frank called on his side to show their resilience on the south coast.

"We need to bounce back," Frank continued. "The best teams bounce back straight away with a top performance, with top intensity, with a top mentality - that's what I expect from the players and what the players expect from themselves. They are so determined."

Frank added: "I think all the games are challenging, it's just different challenges.

"Arsenal away, we know it's a game where we need to defend a lot and try to hurt them in specific areas and there is some expectation to it.

"Then we play against Southampton away, where maybe it will be 50/50 throughout the game, and it's different areas we need to focus on in the game plan.

"But, for me, I know as the season develops, teams are going to go up in form and down in form.

"And, right now, Southampton have hit a little bit of form."
