Brentford head coach Thomas Frank delivered a squad update ahead of the Bees’ meeting with Luton Town.

Mikkel Damsgaard, who last appeared in the Premier League in mid-August, is “touch and go” having played 45 minutes for a Brentford XI against Bournemouth on Tuesday. Defender Mads Roerslev is fit and available, while Mathias Jensen remains sidelined with an adductor injury and will be assessed ahead of the Bees’ trip to Brighton and Hove Albion on Wednesday.

Nathan Collins (ankle) and Josh Dasilva (hamstring) have also been ruled out of Saturday’s game at Gtech Community Stadium.

Frank was full of praise for a Luton side that have taken four points from their last three Premier League fixtures.

The Hatters head into the weekend in 17th, four points above the relegation zone, while Brentford sit firmly in mid-table, just below 10th-placed Chelsea on goal difference.

“Like when we were promoted, they are probably the team with the smallest budget and the smallest stadium. They have had a very similar journey to us,” said Frank.

“Rob Edwards and his team did a top job to get Luton promoted, and it’s important to remember than Nathan Jones did a really good job there as well.

“The two clubs faced each other in 2009 in League Two; now we’re facing each other in the best league in the world. It’s a fantastic story and I’m looking forward to the game.”
