Brentford head coach Keith Andrews provided an update on Kaye Furo, Jordan Henderson and Dango Ouattara ahead of Saturday’s Premier League game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge (3pm kick-off GMT).

The Bees have lost just one of their last eight meetings with this weekend's hosts, with the Blues currently three places and two points behind Andrews' side in the table.

Jordan Henderson was withdrawn at half-time as Brentford beat Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup third round at Hillsborough last weekend.

Dango Ouattara’s Burkina Faso exited the Africa Cup of Nations at the round-of-16 stage with a 3-0 defeat to holders Ivory Coast, while Frank Onyeka’s Nigeria were knocked out in the semi-final on Wednesday by tournament hosts Morocco.

“Dango is back,” said Andrews. “It probably would have been a bit too tight to get him back for the Sheffield Wednesday game, so we decided to look at the bigger picture and give him an extra few days. He’s back and he’s been training well.

“Frank is still involved with Nigeria because they’ve got the third/fourth-place play-off. He won’t be back.

“Jordan took an ankle knock last weekend. There was contact and he slightly rolled it. He’s made really good progress. It was the right decision to take him off - the medics did well with that one. He’s back on the grass and we’ll see how he is for tomorrow.”

On Furo, who joined the Bees from Club Brugge last week, Andrews added: “He’s a proper no.9. He’s obviously very young and hasn’t had lots and lots of first-team action, but he’s a player that we have a lot of belief in already.

“He’s a really good person. It’s big for us to have characters who want to achieve. He’s from a really good family, he’s humble, he wants to graft and he wants to get better.

“He’s already struck up a good relationship with [Igor] Thiago, who he’ll pick up a lot from.

“We’ve brought him straight into the first-team squad and he’s trained with us all week.

“We really like him. He’s settled in pretty smoothly – technically and with the intensity of it, which can catch a lot of players out when they come into our league and our training sessions.

“I do anticipate him being in and around it, we just need to look after him, get him up to speed and work with him closely, which we’re looking forward to doing.”

Josh Dasilva (knee ligament) remains sidelined, while Fábio Carvalho and Antoni Milambo will both miss the rest of the campaign due to ACL injuries.
