Brentford B forward Lucias Vine is looking to keep up his scoring run after joining the young Bees recently.

The striker has netted three times whilst on trial with the group against the likes of Salisbury, as well as Under-21 sides from Swansea and Fulham.

“I’m buzzing to be here, I’m very happy,” said the 19-year-old. “I played some games and scored against Salisbury, Swansea and Fulham.

“It’s been so professional since I’ve been here. Neil (MacFarlane) and Saunds (Sam Saunders) have been brilliant. It’s been a pleasure to work with all of the staff so far. Not being in a league and playing against a range of teams, men’s teams too which is good because you get used to the physicality is great. Being so close to the First Team helps a lot, you train next to them and eat next to them so it makes you feel like you can really push on."

Lucias joined Brentford having departed Aldershot Town in the summer. He spent two years with the National League side within their youth ranks and also spent some time in and around the match day squads at the EBB Stadium.

Having netted three goals during his time on trial, Lucias also believes that his wider performances have contributed in him to joining the Club.

“My time at Aldershot was a good two years. I went into the first team there and learned how to be physical and move the ball quicker to not get caught out. I think that’s up there with one of my biggest attributes.

"I like to think I’m a link man who can score goals. I love playing football and getting involved, scoring and getting assists and trying to get my numbers up. It’s a really close group, the lads are great and have been a pleasure to work with since I’ve been here.”

Lucias also has football in the family with his dad having turned out for the Bees whilst on loan in the 2002/03 season as he helped himself 13 goals in a career which saw him play for a host of Football League clubs.

“My dad, Rowan, came on loan 20 years ago here,” said Lucias. “He played a season, 42 games, so I want to try and do the same here and try to play 42 games, stay injury free, and score some goals. We’re similar, I think we both have a good football brain, we like to play good football and score goals. I think he’s been to every game that I’ve played in the last 15 years, he tells me what I’m doing right and what I’m doing wrong. He tells me what I’m doing wrong to help me to fix it.”
