Brentford defender Fin Stevens has agreed a loan deal with Swansea City.

The Wales under-21 international completed the move to the Sky Bet Championship club ahead of the Transfer Window shutting at 11pm today, Thursday 1 September.

Fin will spend the season with Swansea and could make his debut against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

An Arsenal academy player as a youngster, Fin joined Brentford B in the summer of 2020 and has since been promoted to the First Team. He also had 12 months at Worthing in the Isthmian League Premier Division.

The 19-year-old put pen to paper on a new five-year contract earlier this summer, after making his Premier League debut against Southampton in January. He has also played for Wales' youth set-up, most recently during their UEFA European under-21 qualifying campaign.

Phil Giles, Brentford FC Director of Football, said: “Fin has made amazing progress in his first two years with us. To go from the Isthmian League to the Premier League in the timeframe he did shows the ability he has and the potential he has to go even further. The next stage for him is to play matches more regularly.

“We know the Championship is a relentless league. It tests players in a variety of ways and will be great for Fin’s development. He will have a lot of games to play in a short period of time and we look forward to watching him progress in his time away from us.”

After making his senior debut in the Carabao Cup in October 2020, Fin spent the majority of the season around the First Team squad.

He made five appearances in the 2020/21 campaign, two in the Championship, and was on the bench for the Play-Off final that saw us promoted to the top flight.

He made a further four appearances in red and white stripes last term and has also featured 28 times for the Brentford B squad – 22 of those appearances coming in his debut season.
