Brentford Football Club have agreed a fee with Gillingham for striker Antonio German to leave The Bees and join the newly-promoted Kent side.

Antonio was out of contract at Griffin Park at the end of the 2012/13 season and was offered new terms.

He, however, decided to turn down the contract and look elsewhere.

As he is under the age of 24 Brentford were entitled to compensation if he joined another club and a fee has been agreed for him to complete a move to Gillingham, where he spent time on loan earlier this year.

Antonio joined Brentford on a Development Squad contract in January 2012.

He scored a hat-trick on his debut for the Development Squad, in a 7-0 win over a team from the Nike Academy, and finished his first season at that level with four goals in four games.

He made his First Team debut as a substitute against Leyton Orient in March 2012 and made one further appearance as a substitute in 2011/12.

The 21-year-old striker scored one goal in five appearances for the First Team in 2012/13 and also scored once in seven games during a loan spell at League Two Gillingham, helping them to promotion to the third tier.

He also scored seven goals in 13 games for Brentford’s Development Squad in the Under-21 Professional Development League Two South.
