The event, which is celebrating its tenth year, offers a scenic running route through St James’ Park, Green Park and Hyde Park. This is the first time fans and staff members have run a half marathon for the Trust – in total, they managed to fundraise nearly £2,000 for its community projects.

The half marathon coincided with the Trust’s 30th anniversary; celebrating thirty years of health, education and community engagement projects.

Tony Griffiths, who ran the race, said: “Our daughter has loved training with the Trust through its Football Development Programme; this was my chance to give something back. The run itself was fun and I proudly wore my Brentford FC Community Sports Trust top – I even heard a few ‘Go Brentford’ shouts along the route!”

Andy Griffin, who also ran the race, said: “It’s the closest I will ever get to putting the shirt on and representing Brentford. It was a joy to get out there, get myself fit and more importantly: help the Trust.”
