Brentford defender Ethan Pinnock has spoken about the scourge of social media abuse during an interview with The Sun newspaper. Ethan spoke to Justin Allen, the newspaper's Chief Football League Writer, earlier this month. And social media was on the agenda.
The interview was completed, and published, before the announcement of a football-wide social media boycott between 30 April and 3 May. Brentford will be joining in with the withdrawal from social media platforms after abuse suffered by our players. This was discussed by Ethan in the interview.
Our statement on our withdrawal from social media platforms can be seen here while the coordinated football-wide statement is here. Jon Varney, Brentford FC Chief Executive, spoke to the Mail on Sunday after the boycott was announced. See his comments as part of a wider piece here.
