Eleonora Cottrell was left delighted following Brentford Women’s 4-0 win against Dulwich Women Reserves at Bedfont Sports Club on Sunday afternoon.

The women’s first team’s number 22 made an instant impact from the bench grabbing her third goal of the season as Brentford Women cruised to victory following a stellar performance.

Speaking on the victory, Cottrell said: “I’m very happy with the win, I think we played very well as a team and to come on and score that goal made it a really enjoyable day.

“The message from the head coach before the game was to have a good mentality and our goal for the rest of the season is to win every game.”

The Bees made an electric start to the match and were 2-0 up within the first 20 minutes courtesy of a Chloe Logie double.

The striker went on to seal her sixth hat-trick of the season just after the hour mark before Cottrell was introduced to the game and got the final touch on a Sophie Troth corner to put her side four ahead.

The winger went on to explain how vital it is to make a positive impact when coming on from the bench.

“It’s very important, I still feel a lot of pressure when I come on and I just want to make a difference which I feel I did,” said Cottrell.

“We have a good mentality and attitude within the squad right now and everyone’s wanting it, so we are definitely keeping Dorking on their toes."

Brentford Women currently sit top of the London South East Regional Women’s Football League Division One North table on 35 points with Dorking on 30 points with two games in hand.

Karleigh Osborne’s side may have to win their three remaining games this season and count on a Dorking defeat if they are to win the title and gain promotion into the Premier Division.

Cottrell talks on how much it would mean if her side were able to clinch the league title in what is set out to be an extremely tight finish.

“It would mean the world to us, we have worked so hard and have kept at it all season so we would be really happy if we did get promotion.”
