Forest Crusaders make the better start and won the early battles but it’s Brentford that took the lead. Kasey Clifford plays the ball over the top for Jasmine Williamson to slot past the keeper. Forest crusaders react with a equaliser, a good striker from just outside the box which lobs Hannah Iguchi.

Gabi Dyer goes to close to restoring the lead but a goal line clearance prevents that. Crusaders were on top and creating chances but Iguchi was equal to them.

Brentford then retake the lead after Shannon Read took a quick corner to Clifford who strikes the ball into the roof of the net. Forest Crusaders pin us back to 2-2, after taking a quick throwing, they strike from out wide with the ball lobbing Iguchi. Crusaders take a deserved lead, Brentford have been second best in this half.

Both teams started the second half well and it could of gone either way. Brentford scrabble home a 3rd, Brentford put on the pressure and capitalise. The opposition keeper made a good save but spills the ball and Pia Williams was on hand to tap home. Moments later Crusaders won a penalty, the resulting penalty was fired over the bar. A huge let off for the bees.

Williamson switched the play to Read who had a pocket of space, took a great first touch and fired the ball into the back of the next 4-3 Brentford. Into the last 5 minutes of the match, Brentford secured the game with another Williams goal. Read delivered a great corner which was side footed home by Williams.

A strong second half performance from the bee’s was enough to clinch the game. A great game of football played by both teams.
