Having missed out on automatic qualification through the Under-19 European Championship, with a third-place finish in Group B, Paul Simpson's Young Lions were handed a second chance with today's Play-Off game against Norway in Seinajoki.

After a goalless first-half, The Norweigans took control in the final 15 minutes with three unanswered goals. Erik Botheim put Norway in front before Eman Markovic added a second in the 86th minute. Jens Petter Hauge sealed the victory in the final minute as England suffered their second reverse of the week. This defeat means England will not get the chance to defend the trophy they won in South Korea last summer.

Today's cap was Ellery's ninth at Under-19 level and 13th in total, with the 18-year-old playing every minute of the campaign in Finland.
