Brentford attacker Emiliano Marcondes Camargo Hansen has been recognized for his form in the months before his move with an award from the Danish FA. The Danish youth international attacker, better known as Emiliano Marcondes, was named Superliga Player of the Year 2017 at the Danish Football Awards on Friday, March 2. Emiliano was unable to attend the awards due to training with The Bees so was informed of his win by Brentford Head Coach Dean Smith earlier in the day.
When selecting him to win the award, the Danish FA jury said: Emiliano Marcondes has been one of the main reasons for his former club FC Nordsjælland's big success in 2017. His 17 goals and 8 assists in the autumn speaks for itself. Emiliano has demonstrated his speed, technique and finishing in almost all matches. It will be exciting to follow his further course in the English club Brentford.
Emiliano joined Brentford from FC Nordsjælland in January. He signed a pre-contract agreement in the summer and moved when his contract with Danish Superliga side expired at the end of 2018. When he joined The Bees he the top scorer in the 2017/18 Superliga having scored 17 goals in 19 games in the first half of the campaign and also added eight assists before moving to London.
Emiliano signed a three-and-a-half-year contract and will remain with Brentford until the end of the 2020/21 season. He began his career with hometown club Hvidovre IF before joining Nordsjælland as a 15-year-old in 2010. He made his professional debut in a Danish Cup match two years later with his Superliga debut following in April 2013. Emiliano has also represented Denmark at all age levels between Under-17 and Under-21, earning 34 caps and scoring eight goals.
