The shutout at Nottingham Forest took Brentford’s clean sheet tally to 15 – is that a figure you’re happy with?
I’m never fully contented but I am happy with that figure. 15 clean sheets is a good return but I always want more - I never rest on my laurels. We can’t rest on what we’ve achieved both as individuals and as a unit.
Back in August you promised you’d tell us whether you’d hit you clean sheet target at the end of the season – can we tempt you to bring that deadline forward?
I told you I’d tell you at the end of the season and we’re not there yet – hopefully there’s another five weeks to go! I’m sticking to my word.
Who is the toughest opponent you’ve faced this term?
Adama Traoré is arguably the biggest thorn we’ve had in our side this year. He’s got pace, he’s strong and he’s intelligent in the way he plays the game – he knows that he can kick the ball and run on to it and outpace the majority of players in the division. James Maddison at Norwich City is up there for sure and Aleksandar Mitrović was tough to deal with at Craven Cottage.
With Wolverhampton Wanderers so close to the 100-point mark this season, would you say Nuno Espírito Santo’s side are the most impressive you’ve come up against?
Wolves, particularly when we played at Molineux, were very, very good, but I’d go with Fulham. They play a similar brand of football to ourselves which has made for two very entertaining games of football which have been a good advert for the Sky Bet Championship. On the whole, they’re the best side we’ve faced.
Standout save?
The penalty save against Millwall – it felt like a bit of a turning point in the season because we hadn’t won at home until then. That said, there’s lots of different moments which I’ll remember fondly when this season is done and dusted.
Best performance?
The Queens Park Rangers game recently is up there, as is the 5-0 at home to Birmingham City. Birmingham couldn’t get near us, we were unbelievable that night.
Finally, what are your plans for the summer?
Rest. I want to go away, rest and do nothing for a while – to lie on a beach and tan. I won’t be going to Thailand this year; I’ve done my duty out there by saving a life and left a hero! There’s places I want to tick off – there’s a couple on the list – but we can’t book anything yet because of the uncertainty of the next couple of weeks.
