Mikkel Damsgaard recorded an assist in Denmark’s impressive victory over France on Sunday, which Kasper Hjulmand’s side won 2-0.

The Brentford midfielder played a brilliant cross into Kasper Dolberg, who slid home to put them ahead after half an hour of the Nations League clash, before Andreas Skov Olsen doubled their lead five minutes later.

Mathias Jensen was an unused substitute in that Nations League game but did play 18 minutes in their 2-1 defeat to Croatia on Thursday. Mikkel featured for half an hour of that defeat, with Denmark’s goal coming courtesy of former Bees man Christian Eriksen.

It has also been a successful international break for Aaron Hickey, who has been involved in both of Scotland’s wins so far.

He replaced Everton defender Nathan Patterson in the 26th minute of their 3-0 victory over Ukraine on Wednesday, with John McGinn and two goals from Lyndon Dykes securing the win for Steve Clarke’s side.

The Bees right-back then played 59 minutes of the 2-1 win over Ireland on Saturday, which put them back at the top of their Nations League group.

Saman Ghoddos played a pivotal role in Iran’s 1-0 win over Uruguay on Friday night and was involved in the winning goal, after playing a clever pass to Karim Ansarifard, who crossed to goalscorer Mehdi Taremi.

That game was in preparation for their World Cup campaign in Qatar later this year, where they will face England, USA and Wales in the group stages.

Daniel Oyegoke scored his first international goal on his debut on Wednesday evening as he helped England under-20s to a 3-0 victory over Chile.

Oyegoke, who is currently on loan at MK Dons, cleverly dribbled past three defenders, before curling past the Chilean ‘keeper into the top corner, which was the second of England's goal in their 3-0 win.

He then played 16 minutes in the Young Lions’ 2-1 win over Morocco under-20s, which was also played at the Pinatar Arena in Spain.

Matthew Cox was an unused substitute in both of those friendlies.

Bryan Mbeumo made his Cameroon debut in their 2-0 friendly defeat to Uzbekistan on Friday morning in South Korea. The forward played 90 minutes for the Indomitable Lions.

Halil Dervişoğlu featured in both of Turkey’s Nations League games over the last week, which saw them retain their spot at the top of League C Group 1.

The midfielder, who is currently on loan at Championship side Burnley, came off at half-time in their 3-3 draw with Luxembourg last week and played 30 minutes as a substitute in their 2-1 defeat to the Faroe Islands on Sunday.

Thomas Strakosha was in goal as Albania lost 2-1 to Israel, which leaves them third in League B Group 2.

Yoane Wissa played 90 minutes in DR Congo’s 1-0 friendly defeat to Burkina Faso in Morocco on Friday.

David Raya and Kristoffer Ajer were both unused substitutes for Spain and Norway, respectively. Spain lost 2-1 to Switzerland, while Norway lost 2-1 against Slovenia, both of which were Nations League games.

Mads Bidstrup, who is on loan at Danish side FC Nordsjælland, came on in the 78th minute of Denmark under-21s 2-1 defeat to Croatia under-21s.

That was the first leg of their play-off for the 2023 Under-21 European Championships, with the second leg on Tuesday.

Keane Lewis-Potter pulled out of the England under-21 squad, while Ivan Toney and Yegor Yarmolyuk were not in the England and Ukraine under-21 squads, respectively.
