Fundraisers representing Brentford FC Community Sports Trust will be tackling Ride London today. Starting at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and finishing on The Mall, Ride London is a major part of the London 2012 Olympic Games Legacy. This year's event - 2018 Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 - will take place today, Sunday 29 July, with 80,000 riders tackling the 100-mile route is on closed roads through the capital and into Surrey’s stunning countryside.
With leg-testing climbs and a route made famous by the world’s best cyclists at the London 2012 Olympics, it's a truly spectacular event for all involved. The ride finishes shortly before 150 professional cyclists race in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic on a similar route. And those representing the Trust will be among those completing the course.
One of them will be Jay Reza. Jay, Finance Officer at the Trust, believes the support he has received has been crucial in helping him to overcome depression and discover a new sporting passion in cycling. It will be the fourth time he has undertaken the ride. Jay told his story to the EFL Trust, the official charity of the English Football League, and it can be read here.
