Henrik Dalsgaard and Denmark will continue their 2018 FIFA World Cup journey on Sunday. The Brentford defender played all three games for his country as they finished second in Group C at the tournament in Russia. In doing so he became the first player to appear at a World Cup while contracted to Brentford FC.
Denmark drew with France yesterday to add to an earlier win over Peru and draw with Australia. That left them second in the group, behind France, and ensured they made the knock-out stage of the competition. Denmark's next game will be against Group D winners Croatia in Nizhny Novgorod on Sunday, 30 June, at 7pm. Croatia won all three games in Group D, beating Nigeria, Argentina and Iceland.
Should Denmark make it past Croatia they will play in the last eight next Saturday, 7 July. That game will be against Spain or Russia in Sochi. If Henrik plays against Croatia it will be his 15th cap for his country and his 11th earned while at Brentford. He is one of only four men - after Dai Hopkins, John Buttigieg and Hermann Hreiðarsson - to earn ten or more caps while at Brentford.
