Kevin Schade has discussed his Brentford form this season and the chances of him heading to the World Cup with Germany in the summer, in an exclusive interview in Saturday’s Everton matchday programme.
Fresh from international duty with Julian Nagelsmann's side, Schade now wants to be as effective as possible for the Bees with seven games remaining, which will help the 24-year-old's chances of being on the plane to America with the national team in June.
He explained: “I always want to win games and play well.
“A call-up to the national team comes when you play well, so there’s not much I can do apart from putting in some good performances between now and the end of the season.
“[Nagelsmann] has just said to me to keep on scoring, keep on playing well, and do the things you do well.
“The confidence is good. We know what we need to work on as a team and as individuals.
“We are ready and confident we can win it.
“I have so many memories of the World Cup from watching it as a child, with everyone on the street with their flags running around, watching every game.
“So going to the World Cup would be the biggest step in my career so far.”
