The ePremier League (ePL) finals take place in Salford this weekend, with Brentford’s professional players competing for a share of a £100,000 prize pool.
On 28 and 29 March, the tournament concludes across two days of knockout elimination games between the UK’s best EA SPORTS FC 26 players.
40 players representing all 20 Premier League clubs will be involved with the tournament streamed live on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, EA SPORTS FC’s YouTube channel and EA’s Twitch channel.
Representing Brentford at the tournament are Owen and Connor, competing under the names LARNEY and MadConnor.
Teams play in pairs against other clubs. In addition to the prize money, the top two finishers will earn a spot at the eChampions League tournament, while the overall winners will also qualify for the 2026 EA SPORTS FC Pro World Championship at the Esports World Cup this summer.
Owen returns as a Brentford player for his second ePL tournament with the Bees, while it is Connor’s first time competing in the red and white stripes.
“It feels amazing to represent Brentford again this year,” said Owen. “On my debut last year, I performed very well based on individual results. I’m hoping to go one better this year.”
Connor added: “Representing Brentford means everything to me. It’s my first time competing at ePrem, but the club has been great to me so and that's taken some of that pressure off.”
Players will work together to beat other teams with an aggregate score of matches. Owen said: “Teaming up with Connor makes me feel very confident and relaxed. I know exactly what I’m going to get from him. We play similar styles of football and have a natural chemistry.”
The pair are both feeling confident as the weekend draws near, says Connor: “I feel like I’ve already broken down the nerves in the group stages, and I’ve been able to work on my mistakes. I can’t wait to play on Saturday.”
Owen agreed: “This is a massive competition against the best of the best. It’s not going to be easy, but I see absolutely no reason why we can’t go all the way and win it.”
Watch Owen and Connor play in the finals this weekend, 28 and 29 March, live on YouTube and Twitch.
